Technology Enhanced Assessments: Research Symposium Papers and Presentations

The federally funded assessment consortia have pledged to include "innovative item types" in their computer-based assessments, which are to be operational by the spring of 2015. How innovative can they be while also meeting requirements for high-stakes tests? And what should the research priorities be in the near-term to advance the development and use of rich, engaging tasks that assess the complex constructs within the Common Core State Standards? How soon will simulations and gaming elements be ready for use? This two-day symposium explored these questions and more.
